Press Release: Iggy Pop plays Mother Nature in New Satirical Podcast

Sweet Little Human is a satirical, scientific podcast that examines the climate and biodiversity crises through the lens of a grumpy Mother Nature and their assistant Mr. Bee. The first official episode will be launched on September 22nd, 2025.

Narrated by punk legend Iggy Pop, Sweet Little Human is an unhinged look at some of the biggest issues facing our species. Nobody is safe from scrutiny — not beekeepers, not climate activists, not even the well-intentioned Leonardo Dicaprio.

“Communication around climate change often falls on deaf ears. We know it’s important, but people are growing numb to the same doomsday headlines. We wanted to create a podcast where humour, cynicism and satire sit alongside the science, ” says Roxanne Batty, one of the writers and producers, adding:  “The climate crisis is terrifying, but it’s also absurd. What are we doing? Why do we act like this is normal? It’s not normal. And Iggy Pop did a great job of bringing the absurd reality to life.”

Episode 1, titled “Bored To Death”, will be available on all major platforms from September 22nd. Subsequent episodes will be released every Monday until November 29th.

“I find it fascinating and almost comical that something with the potential to change our lives so profoundly receives so little attention," says another of the series' producers, Nikolaj Kirk, adding: "On the other hand it makes sense - it’s a complex topic and even I sometimes struggle to grasp the seriousness of it. If you want people to engage, you need to find a new way in. And that’s exactly what we’re trying to do with this series.”
